New Project in the works...Tie Chatham County Together

In the front window of Raleigh Street Gallery is an unusual site....it's an antique Barn Loon. Fiber Artist, Blaine Harkins, is setting up her loom in the window and will be making and demonstrating how to weave neck ties into floor rugs.... Siler City was once a leader in the textile industry. Lets bring it back! If you have any old out of style neck ties, please donate them to this project.

Goldston United Methodist Church Youth

Yesterday, that GUMC kids visited Raleigh Street Gallery to paint pottery before heading off to the pool.

wow...this is great for Siler City

www.northcarolinatravels.com/siler-city/index.htm This is an article Linda Person from the "Other Person Gallery" just brought to my attention. I didn't have an opportunity to meet this writer and he didn't have a chance to see my gallery, but I think it's awesome that he wrote an article about Siler City and what we have going on here. By the way....I have heard that there is a cute little eatery in Saxapahaw that serves a delicious goat burger (if your into that!).

Recent happenings of Raleigh Street Gallery

Ok....it's time to catch you up on what Raleigh Street Gallery has been up to the last couple of months. It's been very busy....

I finished the floor cloth for Mrs. Smith. It's difficult to get a good photo. My studio ceiling height is just barely 6'. This floor cloth is 12' x 8' with an oriental theme. It was fun to paint. I love the challenge!

Also, painted an 7 x 7 round floor cloth for Mrs. Haith.
Still.....2 more to go!

In addition to the floor art, the latest commissions are for custom hand painted tiles.....this has been so much fun. I've painted 3 for a customer and hope to do more of these.....

The is a 24x16 tile back splash....(24 tiles)

This is a 20"x20" tile back splash for a shower.

No. 3 another 20"x20" back splash for another bathroom...

This is a 24"x16" tile back splash I painted just because I liked it....it's still for sell if you know anyone remodeling their kitchen and looking for custom tiles!

Meanwhile...Raleigh Street Gallery has been swamped with visitors, birthday parties, paint your own pottery artists, etc.......

Happy Birthday Holly!

Happy Birthday, Gray!

Did I mention we survived another Artwalk...every 3rd Friday historic downtown Siler City opens its doors for visitors to check out the galleries, studios, eateries,......we have live music, wine tastings...Birch Alley Arts....more more more. We survived June and preparations are in the works for the July 17th Artwalk...

OK...let me think for a moment....to see what else has happened recently....I'll be back!
