Smith Floor Art Progress

OK OK OK....so I'm not so good at doing this everyday....soooo this is what has been going on with the Smith Floor Art. Here is a photo of the center of the floor art. It's larger than my table so I'm having to work on the floor. Normally, I work in layers, but with this one I'm having to finish it from the center out. It's a challenge, but it's fun! Next I'll paint in the dragons and Phynix...than more red.....etc....

Raleigh Street Gallery 3rd Friday Artwalk night was a huge success. Here are photo's of my featured artists...first is Bob Lawrence, he demonstrated how he makes his "fresh fish"...his website is http://www.bobsfreshfish.com/eshfish.com/ Next is Amy Konency with her "People Pens and finally my musical performer....Alex English!"

Starting the Smith Floor Cloth

Today, I finally started on a floor cloth I have on commission. It's 8x12. It's a re-do. This first one was painted a few years ago and just went through a flood. The first step was to cut it to size and prime it. Tomorrow I will start with the design. It has an oriental theme. The second one will be a different size so it will not be identical to the first one (even if I could paint the sane thing twice...I can't...no two are every alike)! To the left is the original....next, is step 1: Before I can start drawing my design on the vinyl it has to be primed and ready...today I started the drawing, but I didn't get very far...it was one of those day's with lots of interuptions! That's it for today...we'll see how far I get tomorrow. Thanks, chana
